I am always amazed when knitters don't get around to blocking. The second that I bind off the last stitch I am itching to get my latest WIP onto the blocking board. Then I'm as antsy as a kindergartner waiting for recess until I can unpin and see the finished piece in it's full glory. For me that is pure magic.

Such precision!

I love blocking in the summer (when I can do it outside) but in the winter I struggle to find anywhere big enough, warm enough and safe enough that isn't in the way and isn't going to get sat on by the dog...ironically that is when I get most of my knitting done...a problem I am not sure how to solve! The images above are stunning...love the colours!

I totally agree with you. Blocking is my favourite part of knitting...it's like magic.

Beautiful. I have trouble with blocking but I love the piece you're finishing up! Can't wait to see it!

I have to confess to having something sitting for a month unblocked. First it rained for a fortnight and with the humidity it would never get dry. Now it's dry, but the spare bed I block on is occupied by house guests.
And I hate all that pinning :D

Seeing lace unfurl or a sweater come into shape is one of the best things about knitting. It's the last step before wrapping up in your knit and wearing it! Your project colors are beautiful!

Would you share your favorite tools for blocking? Since you do a lot of lacework, I'd also be interested in any tips you can share. I really like blocked pieces but I admittedly can get lazy. I think you might have just kicked me in the bum. :)

I like to block, too. Have you seen those new Knit Blockers, with pins grouped together? I may succumb.

I keep hoping someday I will start to love blocking. I love the results but resent the process.

I have a love/fear relationship with blocking. I always have to hold my breath as I sink my newly finished project in to the water. Always love the results!
