Chambers Street

Chambers Street

I don't have time for a long post today. I'm heading to Maine in a few hours to teach at Fiber College. If you live anywhere near Searsport, Maine I highly recommend spending the day, or the whole weekend at Fiber College. There are a lot of wonderful classes that have room for last minute sign ups, a market filled with gorgeous yarn and spinning fiber, free demonstrations, book signings, and fun people all in a spectacular setting.

Chambers Street

Before I head out I want to tell you about my new design, Chambers Street. This over-sized sweater is knit in sport weight yarn at a loose gauge to give it fabulous drape. I knit Sofie's in Louet Euroflax Sport, but when I make my own it will be in glorious Plucky Primo Sport.

Chambers Street

This comfortable sweater is as easy to make as it is to wear. I chose to design Chambers Street as a  pieced sweater to give the drapey fabric a bit of needed structure, but seaming is easy with drop shoulders and no arm holes to fiddle with. Side vents and color blocking give Chambers Street up to date style.

Chambers Street

Wear Chambers Street with 3-5" of positive ease. The model’s bust measurement is 35” and she is wearing the 40” size. When selecting color placement, consider your body proportions. The model has broad shoulders and narrow hips. For her, placing the brighter color on the bottom and the darker color on the top helps to balance her proportions. For narrow shoulders, and broader hips, consider reversing the color positions.

Another winning design- i love the color blocking and fuss-free drop shoulders.

LOVE this design. The drapiness and the stripes on the sleeves are great!
