Smudge Kapur 2000-2009

Smudge Love

Our sweet Smudge left us on Tuesday.  On Monday evening we noticed that his breathing was very labored.  At the vet on Tuesday an x-ray showed a tumor that filled almost his entire chest cavity.  It is amazing that he seemed as healthy as he did up until his last day.  He even enjoyed lettuce and parsley from the garden on Tuesday morning.

Smudge was an impulse purchase from a pet store.   My kids were in kindergarten and second grade at the time and I had decided that they were ready for a pet.  I had gone to the store that day while the kids were in school, planning to check out the guinea pigs.   When I arrived there was Smudge in all his tiny sweetness and I was caught, there was no way I could leave without him. I really never expected him to become such a part of the family.  Rabbits have a lot of personality and he endeared himself to us very quickly.  Anders (DS) particularly loved his bunny.  He could not pass his cage with out stopping to say hello or taking him out and carrying the little ball of fluff around the house.

We'll all miss our bunny very much.

Awww, I am so sorry. My hounds Lola and Rudy and I send hugs to you and the family.

I'm so sorry to hear about your loss - pets make such an indelible mark on our hearts.

Oh no! I'm so sorry. He was quite adorable.

What a sweet bunny! My sympathies to all the Kapurs.

I'm sorry for your loss. He was a handsome fellow!

Ahhh so sad. RIP Smudge

Well, it sounds like Smudge had quite the lucky life -- I hope I'm munching garden lettuce on my last day. Condolences on your family's loss of a dear pet.

=( I'm so sorry to hear about Smudge. Poor bun bun.

Such sweetness. I'm sorry for your loss.

I'm so sorry about your bunny.

i have three bunnies myself and can understand a little of what you must be going through....i don't think i would've been able to leave without smudge either. i'm sure she.s brought a lot of sweet happiness in your lives....

So sorry about your loss. Loosing pets of any kind is harder than most people can imagine.

I've always admired Smudge's sweet photos. He was certainly a lovely fellow. Pets really can become a part of the family. And I myself have a soft spot for rabbits. I'm sorry to hear he's passed on.

What a precious bunny. I'm sorry.

awe i'm so sorry!! he was a cutie!

Oh, I'm so sorry - what an adorable little face your little Smudge has.
Years ago, one of my daughters summer babysitters had a bunny who swam with them in the (big) backyard pool and was trained to use a litter box -- who knew -- great little pet.

Aw, sweet little thing (with such a cute name!). I'm so sorry for your loss.

My heart goes out to your guys. Smudge's such a cute bunny.

so sorry to hear about your bunny. my thoughts are with you and your family.

Sorry to hear about your little Smudge. Netherland Dwarfs are a wonderful breed. My last, and favorite, Dwarf passed this past fall after 7.5 years of rabbit shows (he earned his Grand Champion!), getting snuck into stores and theaters in my purse or pocket, and many many bunny kisses. I know how much you miss your sweet rabbit (oh yes, they definitely have a lot of personality if given the opportunity to show it off)!

I am sorry to hear about Smudge, he looked like a lovely rabbit. Hugs xx

I'm so sorry for your loss.

I'm so sorry to read how you lost Smudge this week. What an adorable little guy he was!

We lost our old rabbit last week as well....he is missed as well.

You are so right....bunnies have wonderful little personalities.

Those of us who were privileged to know Smudge for the last 9 years mourn with you.

He was lucky to have such a loving home, and I know he lived a very happy life. Hugs to you all from NC.

May his memory be eternal!

I think Smudge was a lucky fellow to have landed in your family, sounds like he had a happy "rabbit" life with you all!
