Please Help Me Name the Fraternals!

Remember these socks from a few weeks ago?

Fraternals 2

I've had a number of requests for the pattern(s), which I am happy to provide.  The only catch?  I am burned out on naming patterns.  Now, I know I've got a lot of smart readers, (not sure what attracts the smart ones to this particular blog, but I'm just thrilled that they come!) and I could use your help.

Anybody care for a little contest?  The rules are simple:

  1. Name each of my fraternal socks.   Two socks.  Two names.
  2. Send your suggestions in an e-mail to throughtheloops at gmail dot com with "Fraternals" in the subject line.  If you have a blog, don't forget to mention your blog in the e-mail so that I may link to you if you win.
  3. The winner will be the one who suggests the names that I choose for the pattern.
  4. I will send the winner a copy of the pattern(s), two other Through The Loops patterns of their choice and some of  my handspun yarn.  (Yes, I am giving away some of my precious handspun.  I've been spinning a lot lately and my basket runneth over!).
  5. ETA:  Contest ends Friday, June 6th Midnight eastern daylight time.

Thanks!  I'm looking forward to hearing your suggestions.

Gonna have to think on this one.

Cheesey.....but here's my idea :) Lavern & Shirley - Shirley gets the the nice cabling down the sock *grin* Lavern gets the detailing around the sock. :) Best friends and even sisters sometimes are very different - but make the best of friends!

(oh, and should I win you can find me at lckent at gmail dot com)

Cheers!

Felix & Oscar ( as in the Odd Couple )!
The socks are really pretty, I love the colors.

How about Zig and Zag?

I vote for River and Rock.

Ha, I was going to suggest Zig and Zag too.. :-)
I love those socks btw !!

I just emailed you my geek-tastic suggestion. I absolutely adore those socks!

My first thought, so I'll go with it:

Straight & circ

Second thought: Ziggy & Lenny

Beautiful sox whatever the name!Fraternals is so clever!
:)

Hi Kirsten, they are great - as usual!
My husband (who is really happy with my version of your Dr. G's memory vest) suggestes "Blake and Elwood - Toes brothers" ;-)

I have 2 suggestions.Flossie and Freddie(the younger of the Bobbsey twins)or Castor and Pollux because they are both stellar!

Eva and Zsa Zsa.

I love those socks and I suffer SEVERELY from SS syndrome so I was thrilled to see that you knit a motley crew (is it a crew if it is only two?).

Good luck with the naming!

I just cracked myself up. Maybe it makes a "Motley Few"!

Cain & Abel?

I really like the Castor and Pollax suggestion. Might I also suggest Gumby and Pokey as a name for the pair?

how 'bout Luv & Kush?

I'm really bad at naming things - I do like the zig and zag suggestions!

How about Shorty and Slim? They rock, whatever name you pick!

Zeus & Hera

Fred and Barney

What a fabulous colour you choose. I would call them Nick and Nora (Charles).

Just emailed you my suggestion. Love them!

I love those socks ... how about "Magda and Gail" ... for no reason other than those are about as differnt a pairing of names as I could think of for fraternals. I always feel bad for twins with similar names -- each one deserves its own personality and to be an individual, hence - Magda and Gail

Mutt and Jeff
