You Guys Are The BEST!!
I am overwhelmed by the response to my post on my lost Swallowtail. When I got home on Tuesday night, DH, who normally has little understanding of the knitting, knew how special that shawl was and poured a nice glass of Pinot Noir for me. Then I sat down to post about it. I don't know what I expected. I just wanted to tell someone about it who would understand. Who better than other knitters. Your comments were wonderful, you shared my misery and gave me a few laughs - I love Deborah's idea to notify the media, and Kristin who suggested I put up reward posters. So many of you shared my wish that someone has found it who needs it more than I. I've decided to look at losing my Swallowtail as my first effort for Knit Unto Others. Thank you for all of your comments! They really did help.
I've been knitting quite a bit. As I've mentioned before, a lot of it is gifts, swap items and other things that I can't post. There is one thing that I can show. It's Mona Schmidt's Embossed Leaves Socks from Interweave Winter '05. I'm using hand painted sock yarn from Cabin Cove Mercantile. Dave's colors are wonderful - very subtle. Perfect to show off this leafy stitch pattern. It looks like this pattern would make a darn good beer cozy too!
This time of year pomegranates are devoured around here. My daughters each take a quarter of one to school for lunch, and I finish the other half at home. I often sprinkle them on our salad for dinner.
Mmmmmm. . .

Yum! i love pomegranates, too. Have you ever tried making a pomegranate sauce? We can get it bottled in our Russian store here, but I'm not sure how widely available it is or how it's made. But it's fabulous on pork chops! There's nothing like a fresh pomegranate, though.
And I love those socks! My light green sock yarn from Cookie's contest is very similar, and I think you've convinced me that that's the pattern for it!

how are you finding the cuff? i have one sock done and the cuff is WAY to tight.
i've picked out one of the tails of the cast on, and am figuring out what to do with it.

What a pretty dish your pomegranate is on. And I love poms, too. Especially in the form of martinis. ;-)

I see you are using two circs. I am thinking of switching over to that method. Do you like it? Your socks look fab by the way! :)
