Funk It Up!
I'm still obsessed with the idea of how much fun we knitters can have with our handknit socks! So, dear readers, I am challenging you to come up with funky, beautiful, garish, sublime shoe and sock combos. Post a link in my comments. C'mon, it'll be fun! If I get enough I'll start a gallery.
Here's mine, in honor of DS, my funky bass player, I submit my funky/garish sock-shoe combo.
I made these socks last year. They are my own pattern, in Trekking. They are still one of my favorite pairs.
I've joined Rhinebeck Bingo. This is going to be fun. If you are going to Rinebeck, check it out.
A week or so ago Devorah asked me to show a picture of what I bought a Purl Fabrics. I've been a little remiss in getting this done, so here it is. I was pretty restrained, for me that is. Only four pieces. I'm planning on making a tote with the Japanese inspired floral and lining it with the brown calico. The other two, with the dots, are something we are thinking about for DD #1's new room. She and her twin sister are making plans to have separate rooms. (They still love each other, just need more space.)

the sock-shoe combo is a great idea! i have to go digging around to find some socks; my mom has them all! all the ones i didn't give away, anyway....hehehe...i've got some great shoes :)
the japanese inspired fabric is pretty...*drool*

I love the shoe/sock combo in the photo -- blue and orange are perfect! I've got a great idea for a sock/shoe outfit, but the socks in question aren't done yet.
Stop by my brand-new blog to see them!

Oh I love those fabrics! And especially the colors that may be in DD 1's room!
Hmmm...I have socks that just like Kitchening. Now to find shoes. A nice project for today.

Hmm, I'll have to look around and see what shoe / sock combo I can come up with!! I think I'm gonna do Rhinebeck bingo too - this is the second time I've read about it and it seems fun. :)

Hey, I finished those dang socks. And I even took a pic of them with shoes. The shoes, in rl are darker but that's the way it goes when you're a novice photographer.

You have the greatest shoes! I love that sock combo and as for the fabric, well, I've got a serious case of fabric envy right now! Can't wait to see it sewn up.

I don't think I could do this job justice without going shoe shopping, but I'll give it a try when I get back home... I mostly have brown or black shoes it seems...

Oh, how I wish I were going to Rhinebeck. I just know the next few weeks are going to be nothing but pain for me as I read about everyone getting all-fired excited about it. Off to pout.

Love love love that shoe/sock combo! I love wearing my teal socks with my red/teal shoes. I feel so color coordinated when I do so. Teehee.
And I love the fabric colors. Can't wait to see what you make with it!
Oh yes, and Rhinebeck jealousy is oozing out over here! Rhinebeck Bingo! Fun fun fun!
