We Have A Winner!
Thanks to everyone who commented on my contest. As I mentioned yesterday I really love comments. So don't be shy. Say "Hello". The winner of my 100th comment contest, is Beverly of PoMo Golightly. She likes comments too, so pop over and pay her a visit!
Speaking of Beverly, she and Scout are starting a new Swap. They are calling it the Knit Sock Kit Swap, or "KSKS". The plan is to have everyone send their pal enough sock yarn for a pair of socks, a sock pattern customized to fit the pal, a handmade sock bag and other sock knitting accessories. Sound like fun? Sign ups are 48 hours only Sunday, June 11, 8:00am to Tuesday, June 13 8:00 am. I know I'll be joining!
This photo illustrates why my mom did so well in her surgery today. She's constantly moving and is in great shape. It isn't easy for a woman in her 70's to care for a garden like this. My parents have lived in their house for 35 years and have built the most gorgeous gardens over the years. Those massive plants are hostas. It takes good soil to get them to grow this well, and it takes hard work to get soil this good. She continues to add to and edit her gardens. Most evenings, after a long day of caring for my father and gardening, she can usually be found knitting or quilting. She is amazing!
A kind neighbor of my parents sent these yummy treats today. I just couldn't resist taking a photo. Lemon Meringue goodness. . .
I found buttons for the Dulaan sweater. They are sweet little pewter buttons with hearts on them. I think they work well on this cardi.
Yesterday this came in the mail.
I love, love, love stitch pattern books. I hoard them, and pour over them, and dream. This one arrived just in time for the KSKS swap mentioned above. My buddy may be getting a cabled sock pattern or maybe even an cabled sock bag. . .
Gotta go, time to dream of future projects. . .
Oh, and don't forget to Knit in Public tomorrow!
