Knitting Nature

I have a new favorite book, Norah Gaughan's Knitting Nature. I can't believe I haven't heard any hype on this one. It has so many great patterns. It's divided into sections, each drawing on geometry in nature. The photography shows the garments well, and is beautiful. There are at least six patterns in this book that I can't wait to knit. I think the first will be the Ogee Tunic. It reminds me of the Indian inspired tunics that I have seen a lot of in the stores. Knit in cotton, it would be great to pull on over a t-shirt and shorts for a cool summer evening at the beach. Webs is having their Anniversary Sale. I'm sure I can find something to knit it up in there!
Not much knitting has been happening today. It's beautiful outside, 70 and sunny. I played golf this morning. My game was mediocre, but the sunshine was glorious! After I finish this post, it's outside to work in the garden.
Tomorrow is my knitting group. I'll try to remember my camera, and get some photos of everyone's projects.

Hi! I got your blog address from Kelly M. - welcome to blogland!! (I've been so horrible about posting lately and need to get back in the swing of things!) I had fun poking around your site - your Celtic Cables sweater is beautiful - I love the cables and I love how the colors came out - it's really beautiful. And I am not only impressed, but very jealous of that cashmere shawl!! The pattern looks wonderful, and I can only imagine how amazing it is to be knitting with that yarn!!

Hey! I found it. And I love it. And I can't even believe how many things you've finished just since I've known you. Some of the stuff I hadn't even seen. My favorites: your Dad's vests! I love them. Great!

Thanks Bev! My dad is the best knitting gift recipient ever! He loves everything I make for him!

Then maybe I should be knitting for him!
