I'm a big fan of quick projects that use less than a skein of yarn. They're portable, great for stash busting, easy to squeeze in between larger projects, make excellent gifts, and are on and off the needles before you have time to get bored.
If you feel the same way, then Collister is the pattern for you. The graduated leaves repeat around the cowl, separated by the lovely texture of garter stitch.
My medium sized cowl only took about 300 yards. If I ever get the time I'd love to knit another, in 7 different colors, changing colors as the leaves get smaller.
Sofie likes the versitility of the medium size. She can wear it as a single loop, double looped, or even stretched around her shoulders.
